Sharing the Zentangle® Art Method in La Jolla & San Diego
Todays class, at Icarus Creative Arts Studio, featured patterns only, no ‘project’. I thought it would be good to get back to the basics of Zentangle, using black, gray and white, with a dash of graphite and white charcoal! The patterns explored were ‘Singapore Sling’ by Stephanie Jennifer, CZT; ‘Crazy Huggins’ by Zentangle; ‘Aquafleur’ by Zentangle; and ‘Malb’ by Sayomi Koike, CZT. These are all beautiful focal-point patterns. Each one requires more focus and concentration than a lot of other patterns. It was fun to see the completed tiles at the end of class.
I have to give credit and props to Jennifer who attended her first Zentangle class – quite the class to start with! She got it figured out and, by using the mantra ‘one stroke at a time’, was able to keep up and end up with beautiful tiles.

Next up will be a class in October, with the date to be confirmed in the next week. A change of seasons is upon us this week so a tile reflecting Autumn will be on the agenda for October.
