In 2013, I was introduced to Zentangle®.

“Zentangle® is an easy to learn, relaxing and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. It increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well being”.

Why “Tangles by the Sea”? That’s easy … I live one block away from the beautiful blue Pacific – with my husband of 44 years and our Australian Shepherd, Olivia!

Tangles by the Sea has been created to share my passion for Zentangle®. I have never considered myself artistic. In fact, all I could draw were stick people, boxes and flowers. After my first class with Rho Densmore, CZT, I was hooked. I couldn’t believe what I was able to create in just a few simple steps. And it was so peaceful – just a pen, a piece of paper and myself. I look at things differently now – everywhere I go, I see patterns and details. I appreciate the beauty of things so much more because I can SEE all the parts of the composition – a wall, a sidewalk, a tree, a leaf, etc.

In June 2014, I attended Certified Zentangle Teacher training in Providence, Rhode Island. I am now a CZT and can teach my passion for this art method to anyone else who would like to learn! It has added a whole new world to my life – come see what it can do for you.
