Purple & Gold …

We had a great time creating beautiful Renaissance tiles, with accents of gold and purple, at September’s Zentangle Class in the Icarus Creative Arts Studio. This time we used the “fairly new” 5Phi Tiles and tangled on the “backside” using the beautiful predrawn lines as our string. I tinted a few sections of the string before class with “Martina’s Marigold” by Lindy’s Magicals – a nice sparkly gold.

Only two new patterns were needed to create our work: “Amplion” by Nina Dreher-Goddertz, CZT from Germany, and “Inafleur” by Debbie New, CZT, from Singapore. We added some Flux-like shapes and orbs to finish out the tangling.

The class consensus was that these patterns, along with the metallic gold and purple gel pens, and white highlights, created a very “Victorian” style. They all turned out so nice. Thank you to the ladies who joined me this month!

Next Up: October 11th and November 15th at Icarus. These will be the last two classes of 2026! There will be no class in December. Classes have been filling quickly so make your reservation soon. Space is limited.
