Tropical Tidepool…

June 8th was “World Ocean Day”. So, it was fitting that this month’s class at Icarus Creative Arts Studio featured an undersea theme full of new patterns and colors. Tanglers were given the choice to use a white Zendala or a pre-tinted 5″ round. Two opted for the white – they wanted to save the colored tile for a second one to be done at home! It seemed like a good idea as this class used 6-7 new patterns for most of the group.

Patterns introduced were: “Oysteroid” and “Searchin” by Judy Genovese; “Sea Shimmer” by Michelle Dugdale; “Zenenome” by Tomas Padros; “Sea Wave” by Ginny Lu; and “Aquafleur” by Zentangle. Black microns, white gelly rolls, and dark blue pastel chalk pens were used for shading the tinted tiles while graphite pencils were used on the white.

Whether color or white was used, every tile turned out beautiful! And, even with learning all these new patterns, the tiles were completed in the two hour time frame of the class! New patterns were not an issue with these ladies!
