Sharing the Zentangle® Art Method in La Jolla & San Diego
Tangling on black Apprentice tiles, with Sakura white jelly roll pens, was the theme for February’s class. The white pens can be finicky, but happily all six pens performed perfectly. After a little pre-tile practice, everyone figured out how to keep the pens more upright than the usual black microns, and just ‘tickle the paper’, don’t press too hard. Beautiful results were made by all!
With hearts being a staple for the month of February, we used a heart shape as our starting point. We created our string by radiating lines out from the heart (kind of a modified ‘Well’ stroke). The sections were then filled with various patterns (printemps, hollibaugh, zander, flux, florz, mooka, well, love). Shading was done with white chalk pencils, and a bit of gold ink was added for embellishment.

The next class is March 17th at Icarus, from 1-3:00pm. The class is filling up so email me first to be sure seating is available.
