Sharing the Zentangle® Art Method in La Jolla & San Diego
The July class at Icarus featured Renaissance Zendala tiles with black and brown ink. Highlights were added with graphite and white chalk pencils. I introduced the Markus Operandus tool, which was used in creating the 8-point “petals” of the Zendala. The rest of the Zendala “string” was created freehand off of the original 8 points. These look so complicated when complete, but are actually quite easy to create and addicting!
Nine of us created these beautiful tiles using the following patterns: Janina/Joanna Kohl; Lanie/Adele Bruno; Fragment B12/Zentangle; Fragment K2/Zentangle, along with orbs and line embellishments.
The final results were absolutely beautiful, and with just enough differences in each tile to make them their own.
The next class at Icarus will be Sunday, August 18th from 1-3pm. As the classes have been reaching maximum capacity, early reservations are required. Let me know if you would like to add your name to the growing list … tanglesbythesea@gmail.com
