Challenge #271 … Beads of Courage

The Diva Challenge this week is to honor the Beads of Courage program.  What is the Beads of Courage program?  Read on …

Beads of Courage is an arts in medicine program that helps kids with chronic or life threatening illness tell the story of their medical journey. Each bead represents something different. A different procedure or appointment, or special circumstance. For example, when seeing a doctor or getting a poke instead of getting a sticker when they leave, they are given a glass bead for each thing.

The Diva’s youngest son, Artoo, has Moebius Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder.  This sends him to the emergency room and doctor offices quite often.  He is an amazing little guy who has absolutely earned every one of his Beads of Courage!

My Beads of Courage feature Superman  and a little “A” bead in honor of Artoo for his strength in facing so many battles in his young life …. you are Super Man!
